Intro to Programming in Alice 3 (1 of 7): Adding Objects

ALICE

Alice is a software that lets you drag and drop objects to create an environment of your choice. This software was first developed at the University of Virginia, then at Carnegie Mellon. Alice was designed to teach programming theory without the complex languages. Users can place objects from Alice's gallery into the virtual world that they have imagined, and then they can program by dropping tiles that represent actions into the space on the right hand side. What i did with my Alice  project was, i made four people at their friends. At first they were just standing there having a conversation, and then towards the end they end up going for a swim in the pond. I put up castle walls around the area and a large gate to enter and exit through. I implemented plants and little huts for sleeping and decoration. Also i made a pot that the goblin was cooking out of have a spinning effect with the spoon. Overall i like this program, i think it is useful for students like us who are new to computer programming and coding.

Sirlin games is a games company created by David Sirlin. Before Sirlin Games David attended MIT and became lead designer of Street Fighter HD soon after he graduated. David Sirlin founded his company in 2004 and its first active development was in 2009. Sirlin games published games like Yomi, Puzzle Strike, Puzzle Strike Shadows Flash Duel, Pandante, and Chess 2. Sirlin games works with clients such as Capcom, EA, Ubisoft, Kongregate, OnLive, and Smerc. Overall Sirlin did a great job developing his company and making it become critical for many mainstream competitive games.

Picking locks can come in handy during your life. Say your locked out of your house and all the windows are locked, the only way in is to pick a lock. Its not as hard as it seems if you have the right tools. You can buy a lock pick set at any hardware store for a very cheap price. you want to pick two of the four tools it comes with to pick your lock. One of the tools is to put pressure on the lock so when u get it lined up the

lock moves. The other tool which is called a rake is for moving the key pins to the right spot so your lock can turn.

My Weekend

This vacation i hung out with my friends and worked monday through friday. i worked for my father who owns an insulation company and lets me work whenever i dont have school. this week i worked 38 hours, which i was happy about because i needed the money. after work i would go out with my friends and play basketball at billings. i have to say i was probably the best three point shooter on the court. i drained about four in a row and then dropped a wet three to win the 3 on 3 game up to 15. Also my friends and I played kan jam where i also dominated. MY friend Kevin and I went 6-0 in Kan jam, we were unstoppable. overall i had a good vacation.

my personal favorite out of the four cars is the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT because i think it has the best looks and it has some great features.
It has a 6.4 L Hemi v8 engine with 8 speed paddle shift automatic transmission. These cars run around $40,000 brand new. The Dodge Charger Hellcat SRT has a top speed of 204 mph with 707 horsepower. It is one of the fastest sedans on the market.

My weekend

This weekend i had a lot of fun. Friday i went to John Downs' house. We played Xbox and watched some movies. The night was pretty boring but we made the best of it. Saturday i worked for my father until about 3 o clock. After work i went to chipotle with my step-brother, then to Blue Hills to go skiing. We went to Blue hills and the conditions were very slushy. I was upset because i was expecting their park to be a little better than it was. I cant really complain because we skied for free. Sunday i went over my friend Tommy's house so he could string my lacrosse stick for tryouts this week. Overall i had a pretty average weekend.

This weekend i took the SATs went to the cm game and went out with my friends on Sunday for the celebration of St. Pattys day. Friday i took it easy and went home early because I had SATs the next morning. I went to Dedham High Saturday and I took the SATs with a bunch of weirdo Dedham kids. After the SATs I took a road trip with the boys to Worcester to watch my fellow knights win the state championship. This was a good experience because this is the first state title CM has gotten while I've gone here. Sunday i went out with my friends for a little while, Once it started raining we went back to my friend Mikey's house and hung there for the night.
